OTHER USES OF NONI

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE.
Noni is High Blood Pressure combatant. Research has shown that scopoletin, a phytonutrient constituent of noni, dilates previously contreicted blood vessels making the heart to do less work in pumping blood against constricted (narrow) blood vessels ensuring normalization of the blood pressure. There is therefore less wear and tear of the heart.
Researchers in Stanford University, University of California, (UCLA) in the United States; the Union College of London, Univeristy of Metz in France are at one on the result that noni plays significant role in lowering high blood pressure. Dr. Mona Harrison, a medical practitioner from Maryland, also reported that noni improves high blood pressure one woman’s blood pressure was 170/100 and her doctors could not lower it. After two months on noni, it dropped to a normal level of 130/80. Her continuous intake of noni ensured her normal blood pressure.

MOOD CYCLES AND BODY ENERGY
In addition to the noni-scopoletin-serdtonin connection, Dr. Harrison believes many of noni’s psositive results stem from its enhancement of the activities of the pineal gland, which is located deep in the brain. This important gland is one of the places where serotonin is produced and then used to make another hormone, melatonin. Serotonin and melatonin help to regulate sleep, temperature; mood, puberty and ovarian cycles. Dr. Harrison suspects that noni may work, in part, by changing the frequency of body energy.
Further, the doctor believes that frequency modulations in the body energy may account for some of non juice positive actions. It stabilizes blood sugar, reduces menstrual cramping, and lessens the need for men to urinate at night by reduction of swelling in the prostate.
Dr. Ralph Heinicke, a recognized world research authority on xeronine system for over forty years, believes that noni juice helps the body to heal itself by supplying ample amounts of proxeronine, which can then be synthesized to the alkaloid, xeronine. He further believes that one of the many different functions of this xeronine alkaloid is to absorb absorb onto a site adjacent to the endorphine adsorption site and act as a cohormone to activate the “feelgood” receptor proein. As a result, most people feel better and have more energy after taking noni. Survey showed that after the intake of noni in about 10,000 noni users, 80 percent reported an increased sense of well-being. It is not surprising that people with health problems require more proxeronine and therefore take more noni. No wonder Donovan Lazar an Investment banker in Scots Valley, California says:
“I added noni to my supplement regime and it has helped my recovery time dramatically. I am definitely not as sore after strenuous workouts. The overall natural lift I have from taking noni has enabled me to get much more accomplished, and the significantly reduced fatigue after noni is unbelievable. I can’t wait to tell everyone I know about this incredible noni”

CANCER
At the 83rd, 84th and 85th annual meetings of the American Association for Cancer Research, the medicinal uses of noni was seriously debated. A landmark paper from researchers at the Departments of Pathology and Pharmacology at the John Bums School of Medicine in Honolulu Hawaii, was presented. The findings were subsequently summarized in this title: “Anti-Tumor Activity of Morinda Citrifolia on Intraperitoneally Implanted Lewis Lung Carcinoma in Mice.” Broken down, this means that noni has an anticancer effect when cancer cells and implanted into the abdominal cavity. The mice fed noni fruit lived 105-123 percent longer than the mice that were not, and 40 percent of those that were nonified lived for 50 days or more! This study was repeated several times and each time the noni fruit was shown to significantly prolong the life of cancerous mice as opposed to the cancerous mice not on noni. The noni fruit may inhibit tumor growth. The increase in survival time averaged 119 percent after the administration of noni. There was an even greater increase in survival time when noni was administered along even greater increase in survival time when noni was administered along with a known anticancer medication, such as adramycin, 5-fluorourcil (SFU) or vinqistine.
In furtherance of the proof above, Cancer Letters reported that Keio University and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences in Japan claimed isolation of a new compound from noni, called damnacanthal. This work was done in Yokahama, Japan in petri dishes not in the human body. In layman’s terms, noni may have turned precancerous cells into ‘normal, healthy, functioning cells by slowing down cell multiplication at the gene level’
Also in 1994, A. Hirazumi and three colleagues reported in Pharmacological Society Journal on the “Anti-cancer Activity of Noni in Mice with Lung Cancer”
Noni has a lot of uses and I have carefully chronicled the importance of this medicinal source of life in an eBook title “NONI: THE MIRACLE, THE MYTH”. To be published soon. When it is out, you shall be the first to know. And you shall be the first to download it as well. This eBook talks about the active ingredients in noni, how it acts as a natural pain relief or tranquilizer and how to maximize the use of this plant. Don’t hold your breath for too long. It will soon be out. Please send me an email at

Powers of Noni

Have you heard about noni, botanically called morinda citrifolia? If you haven’t , it is not too late. Noni is a fruit with extraordinary healing properties most people in the world have never been opportune to experience, quite unfortunately. This fruit documentary shows, was first noticed in the Asian countries and has been used for over 2,000 years in places like India and China and other parts of the world. The movement of this plant was traced from the movements of the peoples of the South Pacific Islands like Tahiti, Hawaii, Malaysia and so on. The plant grows very well where man’s destructive pollution activities have not penetrated. Although the fruit is very bitter and has an offensive odour, the noni juice supplement used especially in the United States is quite a delicacy in taste and smell because of the addition of natural grape and blueberry juices, a special blend formulated by two prominent food chemists, Stephen Story and John Wadsworth

BENEFITS

Research has shown that has capacity to strengthen the immune system, regulate cell function and cellular regeneration of damaged cells. Noni also lowers high blood pressure, regulates sleep, temperature and mood cycles. Increases body energy, acts as anti-inflammatory and anti-histaminic agent, alleviates pain and has anti-bacterial properties for the protection of digestive system and heart damage. I

I shall dwell in much detail on this in the next few days.

MANY USES OF CARROT

‘A carrot a day,’ the saying goes, ‘keeps the doctor away.’ Nothing could be truer of any divinely created plant than carrot. In this segment, we shall be discussing the various uses of carrot. I will however acknowledge carrot museum and Dr. Philip Okosodo of the University of Benin, Nigeria for his useful impartations during my research. Carrot, also known as daucus carota, is a well-known household vegetable. Perhaps this is the reason why its medicinal usefulness has quite frankly, been taken for granted. Historically, carrot is indigenous to Eurasia and Northern Africa and belongs to the family of umbellifera plants. It grows up to 80cm high, with tiny leaves. Carrots have a lot of medicinal properties and are credited with cleansing abilities of the intestines. They are rich in alkaline elements which is good for the purification and revitalization of the blood. They nourish the entire system and help in the maintenance of acid-alkaline balance in the body. The carrot also has a reputation as a vegetable that helps to maintain good eyesight. Raw grated carrot can be applied as a compress to burns for a soothing effect. Its highly energizing juice has a particularly beneficial effect on the liver. It is not out of place therefore that patients with liver diseases are advised to yield themselves up to more carrot consumtion. However, where it is consumed in excessive quantities, carrots can cause the skin to turn yellow; this phenomenon, which is called Carotenemia and caused by the carotene contained in carrots, is frequently seen in young children but is not at all dangerous. An infusion of carrot seeds (1 teaspoon per cup of boiling water) is believed to be diuretic, to stimulate the appetite, reduce colic, aid fluid retention and in women of child bearing age, help alleviate menstrual cramps. The dried flowers are also used as a tea as a remedy for dropsy. Taken in wine, or boiled in wine and taken, the seeds help conception. Strangely enough the seeds made into a tea have been used for centuries as a contraceptive. Applied with honey, the leaves cleanse running sores or ulcers.
Carrots also help to break wind and remove stitches in the side. For patients with foul-smelling breathe (sorry to say) chewing a carrot immediately after food kills all the harmful germs in the mouth and has the potential of reducing bad breath. It cleans the teeth, removes the food particles lodged in the crevices and prevents bleeding of the gums and tooth decay. Carrot soup also can relieve diarrhoea and help with tonsilitus.
Traditionally, this wonder plant could be grated and administered to children for the expulsion of troublesome worms. Pulped carrot is used as a cataplasm for application to ulcers and sores. Furthermore, researchers have come out with concrete proof that frequent intake of this fruit can improve your memory abilities and relieve nervous tension.

Medicinally the Carrot is used as a diuretic, stimulant, in the treatment of dropsy, flatulence, chronic coughs, dysentery, windy colic, chronic renal diseases and a host of other uses. Eating carrots is also good for allergies, aneamia, rheumatism, tonic for the nervous system. Everyone knows they improve vision; But it does not stop there the delicious carrot is good for diarrhoea, constipation (very high in fibre), intestinal inflammation, cleansing the blood (a liver tonic), an immune system tonic. When it is taken by weak, sickly or rickety children, the result of instant recovery is indeed always astonishing. Though too much intake may result in skin coloring, carrot however effective on skin problems including broken veins/capillaries, burns, creeping impetigo, wrinkles and sun damage. Carrots also help in stimulating milk flow during lactation. Believe it or not the carrot is also effective against roundworms and dandruff. Pureed carrots are good for babies with diarrhoea, providing essential nutrients and natural sugars. The uses of carrot are indeed unlimited and though not limited to but it includes the following:

v Anthelmintic (destroying or expelling worms).
v Carminative (expelling flatulence).
v Contraceptive.
v Deobstruent.
v Diuretic (promoting the discharge of urine).
v Emmenagogue (producing oils which stimulate the flow of menstrual blood).
v Galactogogue (promoting the secretion of milk).
v Ophthalmic (pertaining to the eye).
v Stimulant.
v Oedema (water retention).

PREPARATIONS:
Carrot as analysed above, is used both internally and externally for various health issues. There are three categorically known ways to get the best advantage of this fruit.

1. Carrot Juice Drink:
Cut 7 carrots into pieces and blend with two bottles (beer bottles) of water and one of honey. Drink half a glass (approx. 200ml) morning and night. The result in terms of healthy look and provision of vitamins will only be too visible.

2. Grated Carrot:
Simply cut some carrots into shreds and add to salad or add to your meal. Alternatively, just chew the carrot. This is the most convenient way as it does not require any formal preparation.

3. Beauty Cream:
To make carrot beauty cream, blend 5 carrots with a bottle of pure honey. Rub it on the face or body at night and leave it overnight. Wash it off in the morning. Do this every night for at least two months. Your transformation will amaze even you.

Next we shall be looking at principles of longevity. Please stay with me on this blog and see you on the other side.

Medicinal value of herbs

The need for great individual or family life began with time. God the Almighty Himself knows that the need by man to have good and healthy life cannot be over-emphasized. He made man and gave him every good thing of life. Man has never lacked good things of life. It is only unfortunate however, and you may contradict this if you can, that the reason why there are a lot of inconsistencies, complications, diseases, sicknesses and afflictions in the world today is due to man’s insatiable quest for knowledge, his inordinate ambition to live inside the sun (or moon or wherever) and his unquenchable hunger to have all no matter whose ass is on the line. Kind of the end justifying the means. Machiavellian? As a result of this, man no longer listens to himself, he has long-lost touch with the environment, the natural and the quintessential order of things; man has failed himself. The result? Cancer, diabetes, HIV, pulmonary loss of the mind, and de-oxygenated destruction of self. Did I just say de-oxygenated? Well, whatever that means. But the major thing is or guess what? Instead of man to return to himself on realizing this personal dismal performance, man keeps on complicating things for himself and keeps on thinking that his next latest tactics of knowledge would cure all. How ironical. But God Almighty is always faithful. He did not only provide solution to man’s complex and complicated life, for He knew the end from the beginning, He also made remedies of whatever problem he faces, to man. In and around man, there are inbuilt stabilizers. Man should not have to worry about sicknesses, diseases and afflictions anymore. Man is born wealthy and healthy. But how come it is not as simple as I am putting it here? Reason No. 1, man is spiritually blind. Reason No. 2, he is too self-calculated and self-opinionated that he even doubts himself and disagrees with natural and quiet timings of himself. Conclusion: man continues in self-induced bondage. Way forward? Self-rediscovery. Man should go back to nature, open his own eyes and see where he missed it. Back to nature. Back to the environment and back to wealth and health. Returning back to nature is not just about increasing the physical life force of man, it is a call to a total liberation of the human person. A call that man should break loose from the untimely inevitable. Death. Death is a reality from which no one can hide. Even when man tries to suppress the thought of dying, daily events about the loss of family, relatives or friends keep him on the edge of his seat that it could be his turn next. The universally acceptable truth about death is this: as humans, one day, we shall join our ancestors. This may shatter our illusion of invincibility, of power, might, strength and greatness. But one day is one day. The silent cold hands of death…would come…. However pathetic this may seem, man still has opportunity to at least grow old, get weak before death. This is our major concern in this blog. You have a right to stay alive till about 120 years of age or thereabout. Don’t die through simple common diseases. For this purpose, I have discussed at length with Dr. Vincent Akpasubi, whom I told you about earlier on. This veteran Dr. told me a very pathetic story one day and here it is: he was visiting his home-town, Igodonesan, a village of about 500 km from where he lived (outside the city of Lagos), after about 2 years. On getting to the village, the Dr. decided to visit his paternal uncle, an ageing man of about 80. On reaching the home of his uncle, he couldn’t believe his eyes. The old man has emaciated so much that he would have hidden behind a broomstick without being seen. Imagine a man who was hitherto considered to be very healthy and plump with about 120 kg to his credit. What was the problem? An open wound. The man was nursing (in fact has been nursing an open sore or wound) for more than a year and the wound refused to heal. He has visited the local hospitals and pharmacies without any solution. As soon as our Dr friend heard this, he shook his head in utter disbelief. Because around the old man’s house there were many herbs, plants and fruit-trees. So why was the old man not availing himself of the opportunities around him and get healed? Ignorance.
“Uncle”, the Dr. called the old man. “What is that plant I see directly behind your window?”
“Pawpaw” the old answered.
“So why didn’t you use it?”
“How?” the old man asked in disbelief.
“That tree you are seeing is a wonder tree. It can heal you when you use it properly on your wound and within a week this sore on your leg will disappear.”
The Dr. went straight and administered pure natural pawpaw treatment on the old frail man. He plucked some fresh leaves from the pawpaw, squeezed them together with water and directly applied it to the old man’s wound. He told the old man to continue with this treatment, morning and night for at least a week. And that the following day, he should peel unripe pawpaw and tie it directly to the wound. And guess what? Before four days, the wound completely dried up and by the fifth day, it had completely healed. When the good Dr. told me this, I was completely amazed. He then told me the amazing things about this plant. The pawpaw plant is a native of South America where it was cultivated since Pre-Columbian times. There are 22 species known to man the most famous of which is carica papaya. Pawpaw reached Europe in 1690 and Asia in the 18th Century. Pawpaw is now grown all over tropical Africa. It is a very beautiful plant; hence it is used ornamentally in some parts of the world. Pawpaw is one of God’s wonderful gifts to humanity. When one looks at the beauty and richness of nature, according to Dr. Vincent, one cannot but burst into songs of praise to God. Pawpaw is a holistic pharmacy in itself. We like pawpaw as a fruit and enjoy its delicious taste. But how many of us know the medicinal values of this plant? How many of us know that pawpaw improves digestion of protein and expels worms (all kinds of whether ring or tapeworm) from the system? Do we know that the ripe fruits are rich in Vitamins A, B and C? We can actually improve our eyesight, nerves and muscles and strengthen our immune system by just paying closer attention to pawpaw. The Dr. informed me that to eject unwanted guests like worms from the system, one can actually chew two tablespoons of the seeds of ripe pawpaw fruit first thing in the morning and last thing at night for at least three days. At this time, the Dr. advises, eat only fruits for breakfast and supper for the three days. For chronic external ulcers or sores, cut a piece of unripe pawpaw fruit and tie directly to the wound. This might look ridiculous or primitive, but when you do this at regular intervals say three hours in between four times daily for a week, you will be surprise how the wound will totally disappear. You may as well, says the Dr. eat plenty of ripe pawpaw during the treatment. Sounds more like enjoyment to me. I shall tell you more about the miraculous uses of this plant soon. But what comment do you have about what you have heard so far? Please let me know.

The Sound Of Plants II

Remember my promise? Yes, I am here to fulfil it. Plants do talk. And you will be surprise the language they speak. In the beginning, according to Dr. Vincent Akpasubi, a very well-known natural health practitioner who for more than 20 years now, has become a household name in parts of Africa. He shall be our anchor consultant in most part of this blog. Like I was saying, thought became desire, and life came into being. Desire became allurement, and love came into being. Love became word and word is the primordial sound by which the world was created. The world was created through sound. Therefore, wherever there is confusion in the world, it is sound that sounds the melody of peace. Human beings, the higher mammals have so misunderstood themselves that they can no longer understood one another right from the time of the Tower of Babels till date. Thereof, God has no alternative than to allow plants the privilege of accomplishing the task of harmony of sound. Sound of time and sound of healing. Yes, healing. Do you take plants for granted? Are you among the proponents or advocate of deforestation? Please don’t. for out of the common plants come the issue of life. Whether man likes it or not (and that includes woman) death is inevitable and will come when it will. But the question is, how much control do you have over the most common causes of death? Diseases, afflictions, sicknesses? Do you know that there are some sicknesses and diseases which some of the plants at the back of your house or in your garden can actually deal with? How many of you still feel that typhoid fever, malaria fever, peptic ulcer, hepatitis, anaemia, kidney failure, HIV, Bronchitis etc are killers? Then you have taken pawpaw, plantain, Balsam Leave, Bitter leave, avocado pear, mango fruit (and seed) and other common plants and fruits for granted. These common plants do speak. They speak the language of harmony, peace, healing, cure and prevention of common killer diseases. Please let the plant speak. Help yourself against those preventable sicknesses. Stop being an addict of processed drugs and medicine. Look inwards. Let the plants release their sounds of healing to you. How? I wish I can pour out everything to you now. But stay tuned. I am going to be telling you how commonly taken for granted plants may be the real thing you need to cure that diabetes, or ulcer or HIV. What do you say?

The Sound Of Plants

How was it when it all began? None of us was here then, but only the He behind the you. The Big Book tells us how it all began and how it was when it did begin. Void. Nothing. Empty. Without form. That is how it was when it began. Even then, there was life. The self-existing life. That life brought other lives into being. You and I absent though we were, but we lived then in Him unto He brought us forth in His image. The valleys, sky, oceans, hills, mountains, animals, and the atmosphere became possible today because He brought us forth. How? Sound. Not a big boom like the crashing of an aeroplane, but quite confident and commanding voice, “Let there be”. Sound is therefore important. It is what brought you and I forth. How do you use the sound in your system? Are you accustomed to hearing your GSM alone or your multimedia digital player? You can create your universe with your sound. Don’t forget, don’t let us forget how it was from the beginning. Without form. Don’t let us forget how it came about. Sound. Don’t let us forget that you can create that which you so desire but first, what do you say about yourself? Much more do you know the sound of the plants around you? Do you know the language of the plants? Will tell you about this tomorrow. Catch ya.
